Monkey Business

I have no idea why the blog is acting up, but it acts up less if you follow the Splider address:  http://chargen.us.splinder.com/

Here's hoping this will be usable enough for the people who are accustomed to looking here for the new version. Otherwise, I've mirrored this release on the Chargen boards:

Strange Fixations

This may be the highest number of bugs I've fixed in one update. Thanks again for the bug reports. This time I'm pretty sure I got the problems with the Knowledge skills fixed.

I have removed a couple of the options for mix-and-matching rulesets from the Options sheet, since the system is no longer in beta test.

Extra Better

The versions are coming along at a pretty good clip lately, but I imagine it'll stabilize after a while and I can get to working on campaign setting issues.

Fix and Match

The flood of error reports slowed today, but I think it's just that everybody is waiting for the weekend to get sCoreGen a serious breaking. The problem with the class skills lists being screwed up could be fudged, but the issue with the cleric's domain powers giving the wrong text was a severe hork to functionality. Now if you were hoping your GM would believe that Summon Animal created lightning bolts, I'm afraid you've just been nerfed.

Twice as Nice

That's right, two updates in the same day. Talk about convenience! And so stylish, you'll be the envy of other gamers.

Does Not Compute

In my arrogance, I of course neglected to check to see if the list generators got screwed up as a messed with the tables. Generally, it ought to have been safe to mess with them, but it's always good to check.

The issue is critical enough to the functionality to correct quickly, so I'm putting out an update now.

Core Principles

I shouldn't find it any great co-incidence that the time of year when Paizo found it convenient to put out a new release was also the time when more demands were placed on my own time. We're all living through the same seasons. Nonetheless, I did manage to spend enough evenings squinting at charts and grinding through text to update sCoreGen to Core Rules standards in these three essential areas: Races, Classes and Feats.

The biggest chunk of what remains to be done is the list of Prestige Classes, though I don't expect much to have changed there.

I hope no one is bothered by the changes that had to be made to the front sheet to make room for the new Combat Maneuver Defense boxes. Really, the whole sheet needs to be redesigned when I get the chance. I could have just had one fewer weapon slot, but I get feedback from some people for whom even six is not enough. As a heads-up, though, when I have time for character sheet design I'll first be looking to make one specifically for laptop screens.

As always, please let me know about any bugs or errors. Suggestions for improved features are also welcome, though they'll still be taking a backseat to dealing with compliance issues.

Update: I forgot to thank everyone who pointed out changes, particularly geekflip over at the RPG Engine board who ground through the Feats list looking for changes. You made my life much easier.
